Some of the best things in life are free. As developers, we know this better than anyone. Since we’ve taken advantage of so much open source software, why not give a little back to the community? To that end, bdg started three open source projects related to Oracle Web Center Interaction (formerly BEA AquaLogic and Plumtree):

1. Mingle – an award-winning Web 2.0 social network for Plumtree/ALI/WCS
2. The PHP EDK – the only Plumtree/ALI/WCS portlet development kit for PHP
3. The Ruby IDK – the only Plumtree/ALI/WCS portlet development kit for Ruby on Rails

Note (9/1/2008): our open source projects are currently inaccessible because of the migration from CodeShare to OTN. We’ll be moving these projects to CollabNet or SourceForge in the near future, so please watch this space, the blog or Twitter for an announcement when they’re live again.
